Julia Bevis is a Melbourne based artist, creative director, and curator. Working from her studio in Newport, she brings together artists and arts organisations from across the nation to connect, collaborate, and celebrate art.

Julia is a passionate advocate for the arts. In 2023, she founded and directed the inaugural Inner West Art Fair, one of the few art fairs that takes zero commission from artwork sales. Over the three-day event, 29 artists successfully sold their work to a captivated audience.

“It has always been important for me to create opportunities to show art at its grassroots and grow along the way. In my belief, the quality of art is enhanced when people are connecting.” Julia Bevis

In its short history, the Inner West Art Fair has generated more than $300,000 in artwork sales, while creating new opportunities for artists through networking, commissions, and future paid projects with art-loving patrons.

In 2026, Julia was appointed Curator and Creative Director of the Art Precinct at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. This globally recognised event attracts over 115,000 attendees who come to experience the gardens, flowers, and now the art. With more than 40 artists and arts organisations involved, Julia has carefully curated the “Art in Bloom” exhibition, an immersive showcase that promises to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Beyond her curatorial work, Julia also provides mentorship and guidance to artists pursuing their goals within the arts industry.
